CALENDAR

What Has Been Happening at El Shaddai Bethlehem Ministries

                                                 (August-November, 2008)

At a vision-casting luncheon on August 31, 2008, the congregation heard more about what it means to be an “apostolic- prophetic house” rather than a “church”.  Pastor Marilyn Hartman said, “We are here to train you and send you into your community to do the work of ministry.  This is a time when the saints, not the pastors, do the work of ministry.  That is what “apostolic” refers to. “Prophetic” refers to speaking forth the word of the Lord.  We need to always check our feelings against what God’s word says.  This apostolic, prophetic house is here to establish your foundation in the Faith. Today we want you to know God’s plan and purpose for your life and to invite your friends to know theirs.  It will take many persons to know this and to go out to transform the city.”

From September 28-November 4, 2008, a teaching series, “Fireproof Your Relationships” was offered at the Sunday morning service and followed through in the Tuesday evening small group ministry.  Starting from the August 31 meeting, the movie, FIREPROOF, was promoted because of its excellent application to not only marriage but all other relationships as well.  Clips from it were shown on Sunday mornings throughout the series. Reading the “Love Dare” book was also encouraged, along with many Scriptural applications.  It was encouraging to see how the people strongly responded to the hope and reality being shared even through the personal applications the pastors presented during their team teaching.

Prior to this, the first annual MannaFest event was held on the property from August 1-10, 2008.  Its purpose was to honor God with the arts.  Representatives from different congregations came on board to plan the event, and various ones also joined in prayer- walking around the property seven times for seven nights prior to the event.

In the tent, local Christian musicians and church worship teams led worship.  Children’s ministry included clowning, face-painting and crafts.  Outdoor booths included artists’ displays and baked goods.  A food tent offered roast pork, chicken and sides.  Inside, some people discovered the 24/7 Prayer Room for the first time as groups came for prayer before going on stage.  Others stood in line to receive prophetic  prayer at a booth set up by a special prayer team from New Covenant Christian Community Church.

On Day 7, a rainbow appeared in the sky.  We rejoiced in how the Lord was being manifested at the East Gate.  We rejoiced in how the regional apostolic anointing of El Shaddai Bethlehem Ministries was being manifested through the many churches which had caught the vision for MannaFest and had joined in making it a success in honoring God with the arts.

Our vision is to glorify God as an agent of redemption and transformation.
