El Shaddai Bethlehem Ministries is a non-denominational,
independent organization in the Lehigh Valley committed to providing
opportunities for our community to experience the joy and purpose for which we
were created, fulfill our spiritual needs and change lives. Our mission to
reclaim the purpose of God for the city is based on three pillars: Prayer,
Worship and Missions. We want “to fan into flame the gift that is in the city”
(I Timothy 1:6).
As the Moravian founders depended on
round-the-clock prayer for the success of their missions, El Shaddai
Bethlehem’s goal is to restore 24/7 prayer to obtain community
transformation. The Prayer Center is open twenty four hours a day,
seven days a week for prayer without ceasing ( 1 Thessalonians
5:17). It provides a place where believers can intercede
for their city, their communities, their congregations, their families,
and themselves.
Worship includes weekly
celebrations, women's, men's, and children's ministries, creative
ministries, ministry to the poor, and opportunities for growing in the faith
through seminars, Bibles studies, classes and retreats.
The missions aspect is fulfilled through the Bethlehem Christian
Training Center, a faith-based community organization that offers help such as
counseling in home ownership, finances,
and parenting, and provides educational enrichment for children
through the Bethlehem Academy ( pre-school and day care), all meant to
foster emotional, educational, and economic development in our
community, particularly among Latinos. It also includes the About
Faith program to help ex-offenders re-enter society.
Since September 2005, these three pillars have been housed in the El
Shaddai Bethlehem Ministries Community and Worship Center, the former Milham
car dealership, on East Broad Street in Bethlehem, PA.
